Frequently Asked Questions

What is Included?
PacRim Log Structures specializes in deconstructed log structure kits, that are easily assembled on your property, by yourself or someone on our team.

Each unit will come flat packed, wrapped in a thick tarp paper, and strapped to a pallet. Inside you will find:

– all wood material shown in the unit rendering:

– all doors and windows; floor boards and roof boards

– hardware and lock assemblies

– nails, screws and hangars to construct the unit.

We also provide technical drawings and assembly instructions for your unit upon purchase.

For more detailed information about the specific components included, please check our ‘Product Information’ page.

How do I Protect my Unit?
Our structures are manufactured from raw Northern Spruce, which is kiln dried to 16% moisture content prior to leaving the factory. This raw material is highly susceptible to moisture, which can cause the boards to warp or crack if not treated properly.

We recommend treating your unit immediately after assembly to ensure it is not negatively affected by the climate, especially on the West Coast. Wood Oil, Stain, or Paint can be used on both the exterior and interior of the unit to provide protection, and aesthetic. We encourage you to speak to a local paint supplier to determine the best product for your specific climate and unit.

PacRim works with local suppliers to provide high quality products that are tailored to your unit. Contact us for a customized quote.

To learn more about protecting your unit, please check our ‘Extras & Upgrades’ page.

How do I Build the Unit?
Included in your purchase of a structure is the technical drawings and assembly instructions specific to your unit.  These drawings will show a list of all materials included and how they should be assembled, as well as dimensions and elevations for the unit.

The most important thing to remember is that your base needs to be square, otherwise as you build your unit it will be out of alignment exponentially as you get higher, which will result in warping and incorrect settling.

On our ‘Symbols & Assembly Instructions’ page, we do have a few videos that show the assembly of a generic unit, and our unit the Montana.

We are here to assist you with any questions that you have along the way – please do not hesitate to contact us or your sales rep!

What Our Clients Say

“We thought you may like a couple of pictures of the studio Dave put up for us this spring now that it is finished. Dave did a great job and the studio itself is really working out well. The extra insulation is also paying for itself in this hot weather!”

– Sheila & Ted

“All is well with our gazebo installation and want you to know the guys did a good job!”

I absolutely love the wood-fired hot tub! There are many great features about this hot tub, the greatest being that it holds the heat incredibly well. With an outside temperature of 3°, achieving a temperature of 106° took just over 4.5 hours using briquettes. I found if the tub is used every day, it only takes around 1.5 hours to heat up to that temperature again as the temperature in the tub only dropped 10°overnight. This hot tub also boasts a well-thought-out design. The depth of the tub ensures full-body submersion, and the wide rim creates arm supports and headrest for stargazing. There is plenty of room to stretch out tight muscles and the bench can add extra leverage to get that extra stretch. I really like the fact that the tub sits up off the ground; it kind of creates a layer between the busyness of the day and a pure relaxation experience where there is a sense of being lifted into the trees and sky. What I have come to enjoy about the wood-fired hot tub is the ritual. To tend to the crackling fire and then simply soaking in that effort creates an intentional pause, unplugging one from the stresses of the day and connecting to the natural world.

And this hot tub looks adorable in the backyard to boot!”
